Experience Vietnamese Culture and Language with the American Student

This summer, the Center for Vietnamese Studies and Language welcomed two groups of American students to Ton Duc Thang University to learn Vietnamese and participate in cultural exchange. The program lasted two weeks, offering many exciting experiences for the students.

Learning Vietnamese with VSLC was the program's main activity. The lessons were specifically designed for American students, catering to their communication needs such as learning greetings, self-introductions in Vietnamese, asking questions, and using basic sentence structures to express hobbies.

Beyond being imparted basic Vietnamese knowledge through lessons in class, students also engaged in interesting language practice activities including presentations, group discussions on favorite topics, singing, and conducting interviews in Vietnamese.

Additionally, to provide opportunities for American students to meet and interact with Vietnamese students, the Center for Vietnamese Studies and Language collaborated with the TDT Creative Language Center to organize an English exchange session between Ton Duc Thang University students and American students.

This meaningful activity fostered cultural exchange and friendship between students of both countries. The students participated in this activity with excitement and enthusiasm, creating many memorable moments throughout the program.

By the end of the program, American students gained essential knowledge of Vietnamese and cherished great memories of Ton Duc Thang University and its students.
