Experience learning Vietnamese language and culture with students from the United Kingdom
On June 7, 2024, the Center for Vietnamese Studies and Language opened the Cultural Exchange Program for international students from University of Dundee and University of the South (Sewanee), United Kingdom.
Within the framework of the program, students have opportunities to experience Vietnamese culture through field trips in the Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta, as well as experience classes held at the Ton Duc Thang University such as: coffee making, Vietnamese language and culture.
During the Vietnamese class, students learnt how to greet and introduce themselves in Vietnamese and how to use basic sentence patterns to describe or express their habits, hobbies, etc. Besides the Vietnamese language, Vietnamese culture is also an interesting topic that attracts students' attention. Through culture class, students were introduced to some traditional customs of Vietnamese people.
Although the Vietnamese language and cultural class lasted only one day, it left a deep impression on the students. Students not only had the opportunity to experience learning Vietnamese but also understand more about the country and its people.
Through the program, students will have more motivation to continue exploring Vietnam in the near future.
